the cost of the original brass core (came in a bolo tie) was $15 on and cost for the work was $75 for the new "flamed" look. It was not cheap, but in my eyes, it is a piece of art. My particular chip is not a casino chip, but a brass core issue by the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas many years ago.
I believe that Mark has raised some valid questions and concerns. When I joined the , the brass core problem had just arisen and many of my new friends had the value of their collections plummet. I believe that the "marbleized" brass cores that David has shown and the specialty ones shown by David & Gene & even the one below will never be mistaken for a "casino-issued" item or error chip. And I agree with Gene that it is best to have these "artists" within view as this can serve as a way to us all informed.
