knowledge, it doesn't seem likely anyone with any knowledge could be deceived. It does seem to me that knowldge of that sort can fade, but that can be avoided to some extent by mention in the price guides, etc. The problem with saying some alterations are ok because they are obvious and some are not is when you get to the gray areas. Where exactly do you draw the line? I am writing this merely to have us consider the issues and not so easily dismiss this. It seems obvious to me that people like Gene, Glenn Grush and Mark Cotton are right when they suggest, each in their own way, that alterations and other fakes can be a much larger problem than slabbing for this hobby.
