If you really think that there would ever be any future 'doubt' over whether any of the 'marbelised' brass cores we are talking about here could be construed as genuine, then I think the hobby has much bigger problems than you are discussing. Whalen and Co have produced several hundred of these cores. How about the 25million chips Gamblers General sell each year?
Even through the Whalen investigation, the one thing all parties agreed upon was that there was no problem with the marbelised cores as no one could conceivably believe that anyone would ever mistake them for real chips.
As Ive stated before, I believe that 're-manufacture' of these cores in a single color different to the issued one, so that they may for example be construed as 'prototypes' (as effectively happened in the original brass core debacle) is wrong and I do not support it.
At least, now, if you were to ask Whalen if he would fix a drill hole in a chip, my guess is that firstly he would think long and hard about the chip in question and where it was going, but more importantly, he will tell you he is too busy working on these marbelised cores to fix a drill hole for you.
Nothing anyone in the hobby can do will ever stop Mr Whalen doing what he wants to do. He has a big customer base away from this bb and even away from the club. If we know he is spending all his time making brothel chips or marbelised cores at the expense of 'more dangerous' alterations then IMO its an improving situation.
