I have no claim to having given much of anything to this hobby, much less compared with most of those who posted the altered chips they bought, but my immediate reaction was exactly the same as yours. Your 5th point seems to me to be right on target. By purchasing these art chips, if that's what they are, you are supporting one of the key people who is placing doubt on the authenticity of every chip we buy, and potentially bringing the hobby down with him, even though these particular chips do not look like any casino issued chips. The rest of your points also seem correct to me. I believe that this issue requires further consideration and discussion. I do not condemn anyone for purchasing these chips, but I wonder if continuing to support this activity is wise.
