Wise ones....

1st week of April my family will be going to Lake Tahoe. Since we have a variety of interests (casino loving parents, 10yo daughter wanting to be in the thick of things, couple college snowboarders), location will be key.

Any recommendations where to stay where all is within walking distance? A quick look at the map shows the Heavenly Ski resort in S Lake Tahoe having gondola access from the Casino area -- is that where Harveys/Harrah's are? Should we stay in the ski village (which I assume exists at the foot of the gondola ride)and walk to casino, or stay at casino, and walk to ski? Or say at other place and walk to both? Will want a 'camp/babysitter' option for the 10yo at least several evenings, and I do know Harvey's offers that (but not sure about needing to stay there).
