Poker tables are usually not covered with felt but a cloth/plastic that has non-sided boxes of parallel raised lines close together making up the box. These boxes are arranged as so the lines in the boxes are groups perpendicular to the next box. This allows the cards to flow accross the long table easier and clean-ups are easier to mop-up.
