Don; Nothing wrong with the picture you've painted. Buy from the dealer who is only charging $7... not from the one who is charging $14. Maybe the other dealer is paying more for his product than the one who is charging $7.
Similarly; one can usually find the same chips for sale at all different price levels. It's up to the consumer to seek out the lowest price. Anybody can charge anything they want for a product. That's what is nice about attending a show. Shop around! Learn who are reputable sellers and who are not.
My point is that not all those who take tables at chip shows are 'dealers' ... which is what you've characterized them.
