Doug,
Thank you for the acknowledgement.
I know some people on this board think I’m just an investor (or a nut case) and not in this for the spirit of the hobby. Again, let me say, nothing is further from the truth.
While at times I appear quite controversial, its controversy that makes people think. I am very concerned when I see the attendance numbers drop year over year at a quality show like the Palms. The guys that put this year’s show together went first cabin. Obviously, and unfortunately, it just wasn’t enough.
We are in the midst of an election for board members. One of the questions we should be asking of these candidates is: how are YOU going to bring new members into the hobby?
As for the investor side of the equation, if we can find true investors and not just speculators, then that will be one step into making this a growth hobby. And again I say INVESTOR not SPECULATOR.
I am very passionate about this hobby. If I wasn’t I wouldn’t waste my time beating my head against this room’s wall.
Doug, your post was exactly what I had hoped for. Someone stepping up, that has the respect of the chipboard, telling the rest of the readers, hey….we need to do some thinking.
Happy Thanksgiving and Best,
Glenn
