I found these at a local coin show last month. I’m not a Star Trek fan, but I’m told that one of the Star Trek full-length movies featured a poker game. Are these movie prop chips? Any information is greatly appreciated.
The chips are made of aluminum. I can’t determine if the blue chips are anodized or simply painted. They measure 39mm in diameter (they got that going for them ), and are about 3mm thick. The edges are reeded (like a coin), with large spaces that appear to be a poor attempt to imitate chip inserts. On the reverse of the chips is embossed: "SENIOR OFFICERS POKER." On the obverse of the chips, below the Star Trek logo is embossed:
I assume the “PAR. PIC.” is an abbreviation for Paramount Pictures.
I found five of these chips; three silver and two blue. I’m going to keep one silver and one blue chip in my collection. So… I have two silver chips and one blue chip if anyone is interested. I’m open to reasonable offers.
Sorry about the size of the scan. My scanner has issues again.
