The MMK chip is id'ed in Armin's book as "shipped to Maude Knode, El Monte, CA" as a home set. I think Richard Fellman sold these some time back. The chip with the Chinese character is part of a set found by Sheldon Smith - he said they were from the a SF company but he did not have an id for them - at least as far as I know. You can probably ask him or wait for him to post the details here.
