I don't recall mentioning slavery at all. Historically most major powers have used their economic wealth to buy the soldiers they needed. Rome, Egypt, Greece, England etc. It was the way it was done for several thousand years. It is called history, not slavery.
As for a list of underpaid, we could add many many professions to the list. I only used one, congrats on being able to name others.
Your saying your point was that we underpay soldiers, OK, most will agree. But it is not what you said. You said we don't value the people who risk their lives as much as we do athletes, because we pay them less. People disagree, and were offended.
If you mean one thing say it, but don't be surprised if people are offended if you say something offensive.
