I made an overlay / difference of the two chips, and the CC just doesn't line up.

The dark areas show where both chips are white, and you can also see some of the pink chip...
I tired several rotations, and just couldn't make it fit...

Therefore I doubt the brown die cut inlay was the "left over" from the pink and vice versa...

I agree they look the similar - however not from the same piece...
