I bet they used similar jokes with Reagan, Nixon, Carter etc. Political humor is older than our nation, and goes back probably to the beginnings of communications.

The jokes are funny, period, it would apply to any of them. Interestingly, Bob Hope made fun of every president, and they all loved him for it. Heck most played golf with him. Most of the recent presidents have invited their most prominent jokester (think SNL) to perform for them.

All this suggests that maybe you need to lighten up, and enjoy the humor. Let the politicians suck the life out of everything.
