My point was not WHERE the money comes from what what VALUE is placed on the service.

A doctor can expect a higher salary where ever hi is because his services are in limited supply in relation to the general populus.

Soldiers are 'easier to come by' than doctors so since the supply is greater we value them less (pay less).
