Here are a couple of old Large Crown chips from the gold country of California. Armin's book lists these as from Foresthill, CA, the Forest House Hotel. The Gaming Table lists it as Forest House Lodge. Both list the owner as Mr. H.R. Lee and the vintage c. 1948. The numbers are denominations; unknown whether these are cents, dollars, or ounces of gold, but my guess would be a dime and a quarter. A 100 denomination also exists: green chip.
The map locates this small town with respect to Placerville and Hwy 50 and I80.
These could be your "Rosetta chip" in translating chinese characters to arabic numerals [g].
I have only the two chips. Both in nice condition with square edges, no damage, and full gold in the hotstamps.
Price is $40, delivered.
