I wouldn't be surprised if in fact many states or municipalities in fact did tax liquor.

Also have my doubts about Marriage License taxes not existing 100 years ago.

I don't think Property taxes are really that new either.

And inheritance taxes probably existed 100 years ago but I'm not certain.
