Tonight’s selection was again in keeping with current news events. Madonna has adopted a boy from the country of Malawi and that is where tonight’s note comes from.

It is a 1997 issue 10 Kwacha note featuring J. Chilembwe at right and as watermark, fishermen at center and stylized bank logo at lower left that appears as a fish when held to the light (the design is split, half on the front, half on the back). The back has Native school children in a 'bush' school under a tree. A nice banknote but it still has rather bland features. Book value on this note is $1.50 UNC. ENJOY!
