I find the policy to have certain interesting points. The statement specifies that this is the position of the current board. It also lays out the existing policies of the CCGTCC as it relates to slabbing. Finally it makes clear that slabbed chips are not barred, and while attempting to educate members about slabbing, it leaves the decision where it should be, with the individual collectors.
I like the fact that the Board is careful to differentiate their position as the club leadership, from official policy. Reasonable and intelligent people can, and probably will differ on this and many other issues. And situations may change in the future (which the statements seems to recognize).
I hope that any discussion the President's post stimulates, will be civil, and respectful.
