I am sorry if the reaction hurt you or anybody in your family. It was certainly unusual, and that tends to get people's notice, and everybody sometimes is a bit cold.

I'm sad that my obit will list that I am an attorney, and possibly a few other 'achievements', but I don't have children, and I never married so my obit will read a bit hallow. You and your family are the achievement that stands out, and if outsiders don't get the joke, too bad for them.
