I just did a google search on my mother and best friend, Judy Hess, who just died of cancer and sadly this is the first thing I found. The Caesars reference was a personal "joke" for my mother and family. No, it wasn't the high point of her life, but yes, my mom liked to go there. She actually never went until after she had found out she had cancer and was going through treatments. It was one of the last places my mother ever got to go before dying and it always made her somewhat happy because as she worded it, it wasn't a doctors office, or surgery, or a clinical trial, or a chemo or radiation session. It made her smile when nothing else could and I know that somewhere she smiled when she read this. No, your comments did not hurt my mother because she is now at peace after battling this for seven years, but it did hurt me. I sincerely hope you never have to face this situation in your life and feel as lost as I do today, only to have someone make fun of you.
