We are just sick ;-) chipaholics over at chiptalk..me being right at the top of the list with about 20,000 chips..I don't think it really matters much what the total quantity is other than as many as possible.
Most of those people are into customs first with playable sets of authentic closed casino chips not high on the list. I only say that because I can't sell any of my real casino chips due to the high per chip cost. And they don't like paying more than a buck each for a chip it seems.
Mine are all from closed or never opened casinos. Bud Jones Maxamillions, Vineyard Casino, Palmas Club Casino, and the President New Yorkers.
And if you ever just want to look at some killer chip photos, go over there and look up my collections. CardPlayer Magazine and all the others could use a lesson in chip photography from me IMHO.
There are a few hard core collectors of Las Vegas chips like many of you, but they are the minority.
