Maybe not the "high point" in her life, but of all the things that I would hope to have put in MY obituary some day, my slot club memberships would not even make my preferred runner-up list.

With all the family listed, there's gotta be more to her life than that highlight...pity whoever wrote the obituary didn't reach a little farther. But...it is a death in the family, so you are right...sad.

Just remember to let your next of kin know slot club membership is probably not something that needs to be in your obituary!

(for what it's worth...I don't think you need be ashamed of yourself. I didn't get out of it that you were making fun of her...more the obituary itself. As if it means anything to anyone, personally I would be more miffed at whoever wrote the obituary than anything. But then again, people don't think too straight in such situations).
