Andy, THANK YOU very much for posting these links. I look forward to reading the rest of them in detail tomorrow. I've read about 1/2 of these articles. So far I don't really see much that changes my mind on the future of online poker.
From what I've gathered from these articles and other sources is this:
1. Don't panic.
2. This bill does not target the bettor.
3. This bill seems to target banks to stop them from processing transactions to the gambling sites.
4. Neteller may or may not exit the US market. They are not a gambling site and probably will not be affected from bill anyways. If they stay in the US market, then I will still have a way to do cash in's and cash out's.
5. The employees of a couple of these gambling sites were already targeted by the US before this bill was introduced. This bill doesn't change that problem.
6. It appears to me that if an offshore or international company is already regulated by a governing country, then the US probably can't control that company in the International courts. Seems to be a precedent on that.
7. Appears there is a 270 day window for policies and enforcement rules to be established giving banks time to react to the new rules. There again, no need to panic.
8. If a poker site does decide to voluntarily leave the US market, they will probably be doing so in order to gain a foothold in this market once it is legal for them to come back (since they played by the rules). As a result of their desire to come back to the US market, there's no reason to believe they are going to take your money and run (another reason not to panic).
9. Partypoker can hit the road as far as I'm concerned. I would love to see their players be forced to go elsewhere. I have my own personal boycott of their site and refuse to play on it. So them leaving the market is ok with me. As another writer said, it will actually cause more competition among poker sites.
10. I probably better get rid of my affiliate link to Pokerstars.com site that is on my www.PokerPartySignup.com page!
