I saw a chipper using his IPod at the Arizona Chas show. He had each of his chips on the disk as an individual file and could scroll through them and view each on the screen. I've been doing something similar with a laptop for several years, but have only scanned a full page of 30 chips and zoomed in to see the detail of one chip.
Does anyone have a suggestion of how to automate the process of chopping a page scan into 30 separate pieces and saving them with a unique filename for each? I like the idea of the very small device to carry around, but because I rescan my collection a couple of times a year to include new acquisitions, I would want a way to minimize the effort of making a file per chip.
Would also be nice to easily show the reverse of the chip or token. That could probably be automated as well if the scan of the reverse of the page always followed the front.
I have Photoshop as a tool for this project.
