"Most poker rooms in LV are down compared to last year."
I agree & have seen it first hand as I'm out & about picking up chips from the casinos. If they have one, I always check out the poker room when I'm in a casino.
Saturday night at 9 PM I was in the Rio. At that time of the night, on a weekend, the room would have been full last year. On this night there were only four tables going out of a total of ten.
I have noticed the same thing at the Palms, Harrah's, Gold Coast, Orleans & Green Valley Ranch. There is no doubt that poker is down here in Las Vegas. It was going to level off sooner or later.
We are now at the point here that most of the casinos that were going to open a poker room have done so. What we will see in the future is a downsizing of some rooms. There are just too many poker rooms, with too many tables & not enough players.
I doubt that we will see any rooms closing in the near future though. The casinos will want to have a poker room just so that those who want to play won't leave the property to go elsewhere. Andy - Las Vegas
