Maybe someone can link to the fraud in the investment coins, sold by a slabbing and grading company, that ripped off people?
Maybe someone can point out how slabbing has ruined, coins, stamps, collectors cards and every hobby it has invaded?
Casino chips are not rare coins. The grading system for chips doesn't include 156 different fine nuances, colors, and subjective grading. It doesn't need to, because chips are plastic! Chips don't tarnish, or get devalued, if you touch them. Chips don't get hinge marks if you put them into a box, folder or cardboard flip so you can show them off.
When investors come into a hobby, they drive out the people who started it and are dedicated.
The dealers we have are interested in the hobby and many are collectors. Profit and getting your dollar into their pocket, isn't the sole reason for their efforts.
Investment dealers are only interested in driving up prices and profits. Graders, slabbers and these new dealers work together, against the best interest of the collectors, or any hobby they invade.
Ever look at you coin collection, old stamp collection or things that people collected for ages? No market. They were driven into the ground by encasing, slabbing and grading.
That's why people are against slabbing. They are against inflated prices, based on unfounded perceived values, hoards of uninformed investors, which are followed by a market crash.
Of course the graders, slabbers and stump and dump dealers, don't care, because they aren't collectors. They have no interest at all in us or our hobby.
