I will try to explain this without pictures
In Response To: If I were a slabber and saw this chip ()

Very simply stated, all an xray does is show density.

Lead is far more dense than clay or any resin and shows up pure white on an xray.
The clay of any chip shows up light gray on an xray.
I have never encountered any glue or resin that is denser (heavier by volume) than clay. All resin shows up in varying degrees of dark gray/black.
