I think this subject has been beat to death, but I wonder where the grading service is going to get twenty years or more of knowledge over night? Yes they could x-ray a chip and find a plug or maybe detect a fix but the population reports that we have for coins just are not available for the older chips. You may, based on the best and most honest of knowledge believe the chip is an R-9 only to have a box show up in a closet of an ex-employee of an old casino. If your slabbing company is going to stand behind the population reported they are in for a bath. Rarely does a box of CC Morgan's show up in a bank employee's closet. I would never encourage any one to collect chips as an investment, in case you didn't notice the prices on many chips are down, from a few years ago when the economy was awash with extra money.
