Allan Myers one of TCR authors did the Xrays for us.
He is a dentist. I'm sure you know that but thought I would state it for others reading this thread.

I have been corrected in email on one thing I said.
"All the xrays were 100% conclusive. We only peeled the chips because we did not believe what the xrays were telling us."

"I got that it was a chip awaiting delivery."

I did not doubt that. Whalen is proud of his work.

I have a number of Whalen repaired clay chips and a number of his Brass Core fakes. He made the Brass cores for me when he helped me put together a report on the people that sold them as real chips.

David is a friend but I never miss a chance to tell him what he is doing, is harming our hobby.

The problem is, he is not the only one repairing chips. I know of 2 others. I don't doubt there are others.
