Slabbing Co’s

Ok all you guys tired of reading about slabbing can skip this part.
BUT: IMO you might as well get used to it as it comes along quite often on this BB.

OK we agree on that part.
To begin with I doubt there is a legitimate slabbing company that would slab chips for anyone.
They are not interested in slabbing a few chips.
When they came to the convention they fully intended to slab every chip we had. Old chips, new rack chips, and LE chips.
There is a lot of minor differences in the same run of chips ( same as a run of baseball cards). They intended to grade them, slab them, and value them on a Coin like grading scale from, say, best at 70 and on down.
As far as their graders go, google the big companies and you will find they all have had in the past, do have now, or will have law suits against them for grading fraud.

I think Archie answered this question for you in the original thread, better than I could have. It just can’t work.

The whole point of an “Expert” “Grader” is, he does not have an interest in the type of item he is grading. Which one of us would want to divest themselves of our chip collections to take on this job? And with some chips selling in the $70,000 range, the possibility of collusion is very BIG.

I challenge the current posters wanting to bring slabbing to the hobby to get in touch with the major slabbing companies and ask them if they will slab and grade say, 200 to 500 chips.
Then report back here on the results.
When you post the results of the inquiries please post the name of the rep and their phone numbers. Not that I don’t believe you but a little checking would be in order.
