Adler Larson was one of the owners of the Cal-Neva Lodge on the north shore of Tahoe. He arranged for a trolley to be built, similar to San Francisco cable cars but with wheels, for $15,000-$20,000 to transport hotel guests around Crystal Bay, Incline Village and over to the California side of the lake.
Lincoln Fitzgerald eventually bought the trolley when he owned the Nevada Lodge (on the site of the present-day Tahoe Biltmore) and used it for the same purposes, including taking guests to the Ponderosa Ranch of "Bonanza" TV fame. The Ponderosa has since closed but was in Incline Village.
