I do not know if this is a connection, But back in the days of Seth Bullock, Wyatt Earp, Wild Bill Hickok ETC. there was a lot of mining in Deadwood. Orientals were brought in to help dig the mines. Half the population of Deadwood was Chinese. They had tunnels & rooms underground all over the town. And of couse everyone smoked the opium pipes. Deadwood has a great history & is a nice place to visit.
