Let me add another accolade to Jim on a fine show. I mentioned previousely, that I was not too enthused with the rooms but the price was right for those that reserved far enough in advance to get the special that the Sands offered Jim's particapants. As it was, I ended up staying at the Eldorado for $133.00 because I booked to late. The good news was that the poker players at the Cal Neva paid for the stay .
The Sands have upgraded their playing area and added a small poker room to boot. A big surprise to me which means I will probably stay there next year.
As a side note, let me say that poker has overdone itself in Reno. What I mean by that is that they have more poker tables then players to fill them. The Cal-Neva had only 2 tables active (4-8 hold-em and a 1-2 no limit.) Both tables were short by a wide margin most of the night (Friday.) The Eldorado, however, was packed full. I didn't go anywhere else but my statment concerning the multitude of tables were told to me by the floor personel.
Getting back to the show, Jim sure was right when he mentionen the hotel personnel. They were exceptionally polite--something one does not expect from a gambling hall.
Thanx again Jim, for a great effort.
