I had never played in the Poker Stars play money tournaments until 10 days or so ago. They started the new HORSE & Razz games there before they included them in the real money games. So, I wanted to check them out. I noticed the white stars like you did. When I asked the other players at the table, they said that it was something the play money players received for winning a certain amount of money on there. I'm not sure of the details though.
