I got out of the service in 1962 and Harrah's had clubs on both sides of the street at that time. Both places were jammed packed in the summer but the small place on the Lake side of Highway 50 closed in the winter but the big club on the old Stateline Country Club property stayed open all year. I was living in Pollock Pines at the time - just 50 miles from the clubs. We went up fairly often to poke our nickles in the slots hoping for three Genies - and a big $15 jackpot.
