what I believe, are the two strongest points against slabbing...the need to be able to detect fakes / altered chips & the qualifications of the proposed grader(s). I don't buy, sell or own any high dollar chips, but I can certainly appreciate the imporatance of verifying that what you've bought at those prices is authentic. Because chip collecting has such a small group of collectors, I think that you could easily run the risk of collusion or having friendships / adversaries affect the grading.
Not an easy subject to have all parties agree on but it is important to continue intelligent posts on the subject (such as yours was) to present all opinions. Steve B
