I left at 5:00AM Thursday for the 450 mile long Hwy 127 yard sale with my starting point in Crossville TN which is about 2 hours from my house. I put 600 miles on the car over the next three days but I gotta say you guys are apparently doing too much scrounging cause there were no chips to be had. I did buy one advertising chip and a sample inlaid poker chip. I also got a very very nice ashtray from Dick Graves Nuggett in Sparks that is not shown in the Anderson book. I also managed a few tokens and dice as well as a badly chipped Magnolia club chip. This is the first time I have done this yard sale that I did not see at least one regular casino chip. I also did not see any Silver Strikes.
Thursday morning was just unbearably hot at 97 degrees and sunny. The afternoon wasn't quite as bad since the wind picked up a little. I was supposed to get to around 30 miles into KY where my hotel was but only made it to Jamestown TN by 5:30 in the evening. When I tried to call my hotel to confirm that my reservation was guaranteed guess what - no cell phone service. Fortunately when I got to one small town the service worked and I made sure that they held my room. Glad I did because when I got there they were telling several people that they were completely full. Friday I made it to my goal of Lexington KY before heading to my motel in Jeffersonville IN where I was staying so I could pick up some more roulettes at Caesars. Nothing else new at Caesars except I did get a new color of roulette that is not in Gregs chipguide. That means that there are at least 9 colors of the Chipcos. Friday morning the weather was wonderful but it got unbearable by the afternoon. I didn't get any great chips but I did have a good time and got 2 quilts for Cindys collection and a great jar of sourwood honey for me.
