I am, threw another bunch of double sawbucks into the kitty for Munding's Reno dealie. If you've never been, you ought to give it some consideration. Plenty of dealers, plenty of your collector friends and Reno's kind of fun. The rates that Jim shows on his flyer are pretty reasonable and there are plenty of changes going on in that part of town so you might want to check out the scene.
Spent a couple of days at Fitzgerald's Reno on the way home after the convention. They've buried the train so that nuisance is alleviated. The Golden Phoenix is gutted for a condo conversion. Single deck 21 prevails with varying rules from so-so to excellent. I usually have good luck at blackjack when there is a drunken blonde tablemate, had FOUR of those tables this last visit that I'll tell you about later.
If you've the time, great access to Carson City, Sharkey's in Gardnerville for some meat 'n potatoes at one of the chip tables and the new and the old at Lake Tahoe. If you've really got the bug, casino cruising I-80 Verdi to Wendover is a real hoot.
Grab a bunch of addresses out of TCR and take your own walking tour around Reno's casino district. This California Split mini-lobby shows the Primadonna in the background. From my room at Fitz's I could see the access doors in the back of the showgirl coves on the old Primadonna facade. A bit of visualising and you'll swear the Palace Club appeared just for a moment there...
More arm-twisting later.
