...I could not figure out why you thought Crandall came in 2nd, in one of those two years that Doyle won. I know the book was confusing, & it was only your best quess. So, my memory not being THAT good, I finally had to do a Google search to try & figure it out. I see that Crandall came in 4th in 1976. That was the year that Alto came in 2nd. So, that must be when that picture was taken. But, while finding out that information, I have now come across something interesting. The link below to "The Hendon Mob" Web site shows "Unknown" for 3rd place. And I can't remember who it was. So, I'm off to search either the internet or old WSOP programs to see who it was.
