Just an update... I was told by a old California chip collector that he thought the chip was from a little beer bar off Highway 99. Doesn't narrow things down much since US99 runs the length of the state. But, in any event, it probably wasn't a gaming chip - just a beer chip - the kind you get when you win more beers than you can drink when you're playing Liar's Dice.
