Don't understand it. With the Pyramid and the Spyinx in front it doesn't make sense to make it totally non Egyptian. I suppose they will implode the sphynx in some grand fashon. The Egyptian theme is so engrained into the property. But then I didn't think taking the Pirates out of Treasure Island made sense either.

Grant it, I will say I haven't been in Treasure Island, OOPS TI since they made their change.

I can see wanting to revitalize or modernize the property. Add some new flair or something but when you have a property that is so built around such a theme it seems dumb to try and remove the theme.

First the lion at MGM, then the pirates at Treasure Island. Now they want to take the mummies and such out of Luxor???

Why not take Italy out of Venetian or Bellagio. Since the political distaste, by some, for France, that led to Paris not even flying the French Flags in front after 9/11,(have they resumed flying them? Didn't notice this year) why don't they take out all of the French themes even though you have the Eiffel Tower and Arch de Triumphe in front. Take all of New York out of NYNY or the Knights and horses out of Excalibur while they are at it.

This is getting kind of dumb.
