The Casablanca is the farthest South casino actually on the strip. It is located in a hotel. I am not certain it is still the Wyndham Hotel because it only says "Aruba Resort & Spa" on the Hotel itself. Here is a view of the Hotel taken from the North on the beach.
Here is the entrance to the casino inside the hotel:
The poker run was run peculiarly. They had a late tournament (advertised as 8 pm, it started from 9 to 9:30), and a single low stakes no limit game that didn't start until 11 pm.
The Casablanca uses all of the chips seen previously, including the tournament chips posted by Wayne Murphy for their poker tournaments (I didn't get any myself ).
They are also using two match play chips. I couldn't figure out where they were given out, and it was difficult to convince the pit bosses or cage employees to part with any. I did manage to get 1 of each (sorry, no traders). They are $5 Venezuelan currency chips. One is the red chip shown in Ralph Pollack's great book on Carribean chips. The other is a faded peach color. The chips only came in these two colors, there were no gradations of colors, or in-between colors, and the color on the sides of the peach chips is clearly peach, not red or even a faded red. Further, I heard from 3 workers on 3 separate occasions that they are not faded, they came that way. I was told the peach colored chips were older, and the red chips were just being used. Most of the match play chips were peach.
I did pick up some dice, and lo and behold, they say "Wyndham." Maybe they are still the Wyndham Hotel. I couldn't figure it out (didn't try really hard).
Note on dice: Jeffrey Fairchild asked me first for dice. I have 2 different pairs, both red, if you want them. If not, Bob V asked me second, and they are his.
