Semi interesting piece about the Stardust sign at LV Advisor: http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/qofday.cfm
I know some folks that could stay anywhere in town they want but they've been going to the joint since they were newlyweds and the Dust was rockin' so... Stopped in there during the Big Show and found the tables still friendly and it's usually a nice place to spend some time. Couldn't find the '50's Diner style place I thought I'd remembered being there with the singing waitresses and such so I tried the steak and shrimp special at the coffee shop. After it was all over, I thanked the waitress for the sharp knife and she gave me a grin. Usually Flying J gives you a coupon for that kind of all-you-can-eat "steak" if you buy 100 gallons or more of diesel. Glad I made another visit though before its gone.
The sign? How about Electra-Jag Sputnik lettering? No, it wasn't named after Paul Sax's automobile.
