This afternoon, I converted my present Word file, which weighs in at about 114 megabytes, to a PDF file and then told Adobe to reduce the file size. It's now about 27 megabytes. I uploaded it to my web page server and it seems to load okay for me--loading and displaying the first page while it continues to load the rest of the file.

I'm months away from being finished, so the file size will increase, but at least I've got a copy online for those who are interested in seeing the work in progress to look at. And, the quality of the scans didn't seem to suffer any from the compression.
