A couple more suggestions for you....

1. Corporate network?

If you are running inside a corporate network, then you may need to have your corporate network administer open up a network port.

Each Internet based application requires one or more communication ports for their communications. For example, your web browser (Internet Explorer, FireFox, etc) uses port 80. FTP applications use port 21. When you pull your email from your internet account, it uses ports 25 and/or 110. These are all standard ports and usually are opened by default with a corporate network. Usually your network administrator will block out communications for all the other non-standard ports for security reasons.

The Collection Library also uses an internet port for its communications. Our Admin Utility uses port 2997. If that port is closed within your network for communications, then you will not be able to establish a connection and this message will be displayed.

2. Firewall software on your computer?

Even if you are not running from within a corporate network, your computer may be blocking the Admin Utility software from getting out.

Since this is a unique piece of software (not web browser and not an email client), your computer may be restricting it from talking to the outside world. If you are running any local firewall software on your computer, that may be blocking it from talking out as well. Each firewall software is different but they all should allow yout to indicate which applications can talk to the outside world and which ones are blocked.
