I am not defending what the other trader did but like you said - you need to check that your chips are equivalent to the ones he is getting. I have prices on most of my chips also and my prices are normally several dollars under low book. Other people price everything in their trader book above high book. I normally have trouble trading with those people but when I do I always point out the differences. Many times I will have a chip in my book at less than 1/2 of their price. This year I even overheard one trade for a chip that was to a newbie for 150% of what I had it for in my book. In deference to the other club member I didn't say anything but it was hard to do. I have also found out that sometimes you get the worst end of a deal and other times you get the best end and it seems to even out over time.
