Pam, and others...
Greg Susong has been working very hard to figure out a way to kill the bot posts!
Please recognize that these posts are done by robots (bots), surfing the internet, looking for Message Boards where they can leave messages. It is all automated. There is no one to go back to, and if you respond to the email address, it is often bogus and visiting the linked website may well open the door to direct spam!
This same thing is happening on the Slot Card Message Board and Greg is working to correct that as well.
In the meantime, I have devised a way to try and limit the impact of these "bot" posts, as follows....
As the OLCD I have delete capability on the Message Board. As often as I can, I visit the message board to see what is going on, and if there are "bot" posts. If "bot" posts are there, I delete them, and any reply messages to thos posts.
However, I am not on -line at all times, but I usually have fairly ready access, thanks to my recently acquired Internet-capable handheld. Armed with that device, it is fairly simple for me to visit the message board(s) and delete SPAM!
But sometimes it helps to be advised that the SPAM messages are being posted. To accomplish this, I invite anyone who sees such SPAM to text page me right away.
The message should be brief (CCGTCC SPAM) which will tell me that there is spam on the 's message board.
Now I currently do this with the Slot Card Message Board (SCB SPAM), and I have numerous messages from Barry H. and the Kopp's. However, because I posted my text pager number on that message board, I now also get "bot" SPAM on my text pager.
So, in posting my text pager number here, I am including an extra number that anyone will have to delete in order for the message to work.
Text page me at: 35204892560@myairmail.com, but remove the number "3"!!!
Hopefully, Greg will find a solution in the near term.
