Gene; In Atlantic City, if a roulette player is betting $5 on an even money bet and 0/00 comes up the player only loses HALF his/her bet, resulting in a $2.50 payout, which is why $2.50's are common in A.C.

In Las Vegas, under similar circumstances ... the player loses his entire bet.
