I am curious about how a casino decides how many of each denomination of chips they will order. Is there a formula that they use?

Obviously they will need fewer $500 and up chips than they will $25 and down. I'm not curious about the actual quantity, but about the percentage that would be $1, $2.50, $5, etc.
