I will be in Lake Tahoe in late September for a few days. Will probably have a 9 year old in tow. Want to stay in an area that is nice, where there is alot to do within walking distance. Casino with poker room also important, but could drive to that.

Need to attend events in Tahoe City on NW shore, in Stateline on SE shore, and South Lake Tahoe / Pope Beach on S shore. Will have car.

Any advice as to best Tahoe location to stay from people in the know?
